Excerpts:

  • The former assistant superintendent of Woodside schools has been charged with spending millions of dollars on projects that the school board did not approve, prosecutors say.
  • Timothy Hanretty, 55, pleaded not guilty Friday in San Mateo County Superior Court to misappropriation of public funds, passing a forged document and filing a false document, all felonies.
  • In May 2010, the board said it planned to recognize Hanretty “for his many years of service” for the district. He left the Woodside district later that year to become superintendent of the Portola Valley School District.

Commentary:

  • Another fine role model for impressionable students.
  • Students, gather round, today‚Äôs lesson is how to forge a document!
